Delicious Magazine have teamed up with the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) to find the People’s Favourite Restaurant 2018 – the go-to place for food that not only tastes good but does good too.
How you can get involved
Help find this year’s People’s Favourite and you could win a fabulous mini-break at Les Orangeries, an idyllic boutique hotel in rural Western France. The winners will travel there Business Premier style, courtesy of Eurostar.
Fill in the application form on the website (follow the above link) by 30 June 2018, in no more than 150 words, how The Real Junk Food Project Birmingham make meals that really matter.
Perhaps you would like to tell them about our sustainability credentials; our #feedbelliesnotbins ethos – how our food would have ended up in landfill if The Real Junk Food Project Birmingham hadn’t rescued it?
Do you want to tell them about how well we feed people; about how we offer a range of appetising, delicious, nutritious options, usually with a high veg content and more often than not, a vegan option?
Maybe you want to focus on how The Real Junk Food Project Birmingham sits at the heart of the community – supporting local people through our PayAsYouFeel model, allowing anyone who would like to, to eat with us for the price of their time, skills or cash, at venues all over Birmingham?
Or do you have a personal story to tell about how The Real Junk Food Project Birmingham has helped you? Are you a volunteer who has gone onto paid employment after working with us, maybe?
After nominations close, on 30 June 2018, the panel of judges, including delicious. editor Karen Barnes and Mike Palmer of Lucky Beach, will whittle the entries down to a shortlist which we’ll publish in the August 2018 issue of delicious. You’ll then have until 31 August 2018 to vote for the People’s Favourite Restaurant. The winner will be revealed in October 2018 and presented at the SRA’s Food Made Good Awards on 1 October 2018.
